This Website has been made available to ensure that

Roger Barker G4IDE

Silent key 08/09/2004

is now available from the following web site

http://www.ui-view.org

As you are possibly aware Roger used GB7FCR BBS to develop / test Winpacks

Telnet option on, GB7FCR was also the very first bbs to offer the Telnet version

of Winpack to its users, and thanks to Rogers hard work in producing such an

excellent / easy to use program it made the bbs here in to a very busy / popular

bbs system with over 400 registerd users.

There is a mailing list for WinPack. Click the Yahoo!Groups logo for information

this STARTUP.TXT script file should help.

For those who hate HTML in packet messages, HTMStrip is a WinPack viewer that removes

HTML tags from messages. There is a text file in the ZIP which tells you how to use it.

NOTE if you have already downloaded HTMSTRIP.ZIP, this is an updated version (5th December 1998).

WINPNOTE.ZIP - a very simple and very small utility that does nothing more than call NotePad,

but it opens it maximized. By popular demand from UK packet users!

Nothing to do with WinPack, DK4EG's original document about DAMA (published in 1989)

here it is. DAMA.TXT

MHPE V1.0 - a smart MH list for WinPack when used with the SV2AGW Packet Engine.

Tabbed notebook format. Supports "click to connect".

WINPWAIT.ZIP - WinpWait is a very simple utility that allows you to start a program in Windows

from your StartUp program group, but to delay its start by a specified number of seconds.

It provides an elegant way of starting both AGWPE and WinPack from the StartUp program group,

but delaying WinPack to make sure that AGWPE is properly running before WinPack tries to link to it.

Even More WinPack Add-On's

This Zip File contains ALL the WinPack AddOns that I was able to

locate, It is as far as I can see the most complete set of addons for WinPack, containing some 186 addon's for WinPack by Various Authors, all of who I thank for making their software available.

I was going to make each file available as a serperate file, But

owing to the sheer number of the files it would take far to long to do

and would result in a very large webpage!

Note that some of the files are probably duplicated in the other zip file above.

So ALL of the files I found are included in this one Zip File.

Click here for the list of files in the zip

Click here to download BAYTEST.ZIP - a VERY simple program for testing Baycom modems

Before Roger died, it was stated that both he (Roger) and Dee would

like any new user of WinPack to contribute, on an entirely voluntary basis,

to their national Cancer Research organization , or to the St Barnabas Hospice, where Roger was looked after for some time, and who provided exceptional care to Roger AND to his Family.

Cancer Research need all the finacial help that they can get in the
quest to find better treatments or better still a cure for this terrible
life threatening condition.

The Hospice relies on Donations for its funding, so every penny/pound

you can donate to them is gratefully recived, as this helps them to

continue providing the superb standard of care that Roger and his

family recived.

If you Register Winpack or UI-View PLEASE DO make a donation to

Cancer Research or to the St. Barnabas Hospice.

Even if you decide Not to register Winpack or UI-View, and only use
them now and again, Please Do make a donation to one or the other,

or if you can manage it why not make a donation to both of them, and

show your appreciation for all the hard work and dedication that Roger

put in to ensuring that we have such excellent software to better enjoy

our hobby with.

You can make a Donation in Memory of Roger Barker by simply

clicking on the Cancer Research UK Logo above and completing

the on line form with all the details it asks for, to complete the

donation process takes approx 5 - 10 mins dependant on the speed

of your connection, Please note that the page this links to is on a

secure server, so you are safe to make your donations this way.

Or You can click on the link below and make a Donation to the

Hospice from their website, again it will only take you a few

minutes of your time and it is an easy form to fill in.

Please DO make a Donation to one or the other, or better still

to BOTH of them, as Both of them are worthy causes, and it

would be a very apt way to show your appreciation for all the

hard work and effort that Roger put in to making WinPack

and UI-View in to such great programs for our benefit.

You Can also help try to find a cure for Cancer, All you need to do is download

the special screen saver from http://www.grid.org and install it on to your

system, then simply Let your system help out when you are not using it.

It's safe and easy

There is no cost to participate and no impact on your computer use.

The project software cannot detect or transfer anything on your machine

but project-specific information. It just allows your computer to screen

molecules that may be developed into drugs to fight cancer.

Each individual computer analyzes a few molecules and then sends the

results back over the Internet for further research. This project is anticipated

to be the largest computational chemistry project ever undertaken and

represents a genuine hope to find a better way to fight cancer.

The computational power to perform research of this scale is only available

through the generosity of individuals like you.

Full instructions are on the grid.org web site.
